Pá frá Laugarvatni is a first prize stallion out of two first prize parents. His sire, Eiðfaxi fra Stykkísholmi, is a large first prize grandson of Sorli fra Sauðárkróki, and is rated 8.5 for tolt, gallop, temperment, neck/withers/shoulders and 8.0 for trot, character, general impression, back/croup, leg quality, leg joints and hooves. His dam is Sif frá Laugarvatni is rated 8.5 for pace and temperament, 8.0 for tolt, trot, gallop, general impression, neck/withers/shoulders and leg joints.

Pá has sired 76 foals in Iceland, 15 of which were evaluated. Two of these are first prize: Gumi fra Laugarvatni (8.27) who is now in the US, and a first prize daughter currently in Great Britain. Pá is grandsire to Frami frá Ragnheidarstöðum (IS 1991187750), a tall popular bay first prize stallion in California.

Pá stands just over 14.2 hands tall, and has strong sturdy straight legs with excellent bone. He has a shorter back with well sprung ribs, a wide loin, strong croup, and excellent shoulders. His hooves are rock hard and he does well barefoot. He is a beautiful silver dapple bay color and he passes the silver dapple gene to about 50% of his offspring.

Pá is 5-gaited with tolt being his gait of choice. He is fantastic to ride and he feels like he is dancing lightly across the ground. He is very relaxed and willing to go at whatever speed you desire, and very light on the reins. He naturally arches his neck, tucks his nose, picks his front end up and pushes with his hind legs - all without the rider's help.

Our 2008 foals from Pá are pictured on our website.  They are sweet natured and beautifully conformed.  His offspring tend to inherit his large size, sturdy bone structure, and natural gait. We would like to make him available for breeding to as many Icelandic owners in this area as possible, for this reason we are keeping our breeding fees low ($500 per mare, live offspring guaranteed, small mare upkeep fees may apply). We are not set-up for AI, so all breeding will be pasture or hand-bred at our farm.
